Terms of Service

1. Service Description

Dropoff DMV provides local delivery services for items purchased through online marketplaces, thrift stores, and other retailers in Howard County, Maryland and the surrounding areas. Our services include pickup and delivery of items that meet our size, weight, and content restrictions.

2. User Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use our Services. By using our Services, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

3. Service Limitations

3.1 Size and Weight Restrictions

We reserve the right to refuse delivery of items that exceed our size and weight restrictions. Generally, items must be able to be safely transported in our standard delivery vehicles and handled by a single person or two people for larger items with appropriate fees.

3.2 Prohibited Items

We do not transport the following items:

• Illegal substances or items
• Hazardous materials, including flammable, explosive, or toxic substances
• Firearms, ammunition, or weapons
• Live animals
• Perishable food items
• Human remains
• Items requiring temperature control
• Extremely fragile items that cannot be safely transported
• Any items prohibited by federal, state, or local law

We reserve the right to refuse service for any item at our sole discretion.

4. Booking and Payment

4.1 Booking Process

To book our services, you must submit a request through our website, providing accurate information about the item(s) to be delivered, pickup location, delivery location, and any special handling instructions. We will provide a quote based on this information.

4.2 Payment

Payment must be made in advance of service through our approved payment methods. All fees are non-refundable except as expressly provided in these Terms. Additional fees may apply for services such as assembly/disassembly, stairs, or other special handling requirements.

4.3 Price Changes

We reserve the right to adjust our pricing at any time. Any price changes will not affect confirmed bookings for which payment has already been processed.

5. Delivery Process

5.1 Scheduling

We will provide an estimated delivery window based on availability. While we strive to meet all scheduled times, we cannot guarantee exact pickup or delivery times due to factors beyond our control such as traffic, weather, or seller delays.

5.2 Item Inspection

Our drivers will conduct a basic visual inspection of items at pickup. However, we are not responsible for verifying the condition, functionality, or completeness of items beyond obvious external damage.

5.3 Delivery Confirmation

Delivery is considered complete when the item is placed at the designated delivery location. We will provide photographic confirmation of delivery.

5.4 Failed Delivery Attempts

If we are unable to complete delivery due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., no one available to receive the item, incorrect address provided, unsafe delivery conditions), additional fees may apply for rescheduling.

6. Liability and Insurance

6.1 Damage Liability

We take reasonable care in handling all items. However, our liability for damage during transport is strictly limited to $100 per item maximum. Customers are responsible for ensuring their items are properly protected and insured for their full value if desired. We strongly recommend that customers obtain their own insurance for high-value items. Claims for damage must be reported within 24 hours of delivery with photographic evidence.

6.2 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any damages or losses arising from your use of our Services shall not exceed the total amount you paid for the specific delivery in question.

6.3 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Dropoff DMV and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of our Services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

7. Cancellation and Refunds

7.1 Cancellation by Customer

We understand plans change. Cancellations made at least 2 hours before the scheduled pickup time are free of charge. For cancellations made less than 2 hours before pickup, a $15 cancellation fee may apply if we've already begun coordinating with the seller.

7.2 Cancellation by Dropoff DMV

We reserve the right to cancel a delivery at any time if we determine that the item violates our prohibited items policy, exceeds our size/weight restrictions, or if delivery cannot be safely completed. In such cases, a full refund will be provided.

8. Privacy and Data Protection

We collect and process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using our Services, you consent to our collection and use of your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on our website and mobile applications, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of Dropoff DMV or its content suppliers and is protected by United States and international copyright laws. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or publicly display any content from our website without our prior written consent.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to our Services at any time, without notice, for any reason, including if we believe you have violated these Terms.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time by posting the revised Terms on our website. Your continued use of our Services after the posting of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of such changes.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or our Services shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Howard County, Maryland.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect and enforceable.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Dropoff DMV regarding your use of our Services, superseding any prior agreements between you and Dropoff DMV relating to your use of our Services.
